First off, my computer specs:
WINXP Pro SP2
Motherboard: ABIT NF7-S (Includes 2 EIDE slots and 2 SATA slots)
Until today I had 2 EIDE drives (one 80GBs one 200GBs) and 1 SATA drive (200GBs, it was not the boot drive)
I'm trying to add a Seagate 1.5GB 3.5" SATA Barracuda
Two days ago I went and bought a new 1.5 GB Seagate SATA Barracuda drive in hopes of replacing my one SATA drive and maybe even that and one EIDE drive.
Today I tried to install the new drive, but I ran into a problem. I unhooked my old SATA drive and replaced it with the new one, started my computer and got this message:
SiI 3112A SATARAID BIOS Version 4.2.47
Press <Ctrl-S> or F4 to enter RAID utility
0 ST31500341AS
------------------
I tried pressing both Ctrl+S and F4, but I don't get a response to either. All I get is a BEEP sound if I press them too much.
Any ideas what I can do to fix this? Is it a result of this 1.1GB limit I've heard about? If so, is there a way around it?
I went into BIOS, but I couldn't find anything that said "SATA" anything, but SATA should be enabled, since I had another hard drive plugged into the same slot and it worked great.
EDIT: I know there is another thread about it here but it seems they never found a solution...
