Hey Everybody... first time poster here!

I have been trying unsuccessfully to load some new ink cartridges into my Dell 926 printer. It's not the 1st time I've done this, but it's the 1st time I've had this problem.
I turn the printer on. I lift the top of the printer & prop it up. At this point, the cartridges should slide into view from the left. But nothing happens. Nothing--it does not make any noise or seem to be struggling against anything. Just sits there. So I cannot access the cartridges.

Has anyone here ever experienced anything like this before? I'm hoping this is something simple, and not the end of the printer!
