A month ago I had a problem when I tried to cold boot my PC after a storm. I got no power when the Power button was pressed. I went through the diagnostics and wound up taking out and resetting each PCI card. The last card was the ethernet network card. When the card was removed the system booted up perfectly. When the card was reseated, there was no power. My assumption was that the network card was bad.
I began using the PC with my USB Wireless adapter and have been successful ever since. The other day I procured another ethernet card and tried to install it. Once installed, the PC would not power up. When removed it came up OK. I moved the new card to another empty PCI slot and the same thing - no power. Without it all is OK.
Any suggestions with this one? I have tried everything I know or can find regarding a power problem. When I say 'No Power', the green light on the motherboard is green when the PC is plugged in. That's the only indication that power is coming into the machine. I even changed out the backup battery just to make sure there was no problem with it.
