Hello all, I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but anyways I have a HP Pavillion V70s CRT that's well...Broken.
It started when I upgraded my video card to a GeForce 6200. I put the 6200 in, booted up my computer and when Windows XP (Pro) got to the login screen the monitor went black with a horizontal streak of color in the middle.
After restarting the computer and the monitor for the billionth time, I gave up, and put it away.
For the mean time I borrowed a 15" Compaq monitor off of a friend. The monitor is torture...It makes everything blurry and..Well just sucks.
I had no money to buy another monitor, so out of dispare I hooked the HP monitor up, and what to you know, it worked!
But...Every time it would shake, the screen would go in and out. (Like glitching.) No problem for me though...
After a week a friend came up, and he tripped and caught his self on the desk, which shook it...And the monitor WENT OUT...Nothing would come back on the screen after that.
I COULD HAVE KILLED MY FRIEND!
So I had to hook up the crappy Compaq one.
A while after that I tried the HP monitor..And it came on..But everything on the screen is 'stretched' on both sides. In staid of a picture like this: |--| it's kinda like this: (--)
And half the time it doesn't even show a picture on the screen.
I tried all the controls on the monitor, nothing works..Everything..Degauss, Reset, all that.
So whats going on..And can it be fixed?
